The first hole at Stamford Golf Club is a down hill par 5. The tee is off set slightly to the left of the fairway so most people will take their line over or just to the left of the trees that line the first and the fith fairways.
A good drive of around 250 yards or so will leave you with a second shot from where the cross hair is on the areal view on the right. If you are not too far right you should be able to see the top of the flag.
On a warm day with a nice firm fairway, a long iron over the slight hill can be chased all the way down to the green.
Those going for the green in two will tend to air on the right as there is a deep greenside bunker protecting the left hand side of the green.
